How can i calculate the sum of intensity of the edges in MATLAB using automatic threshold sobel edge detector?

I am doing edge detection using Sobel edge detector and i need to find the sum of pixel intensity of the sobel edge?

Try this:

theSum = sum(yourSobelEdgeImage(:))

But this one will yield same as the number of edge pixels in the Sobel edge image. Is that right? because the edge image is a binary image.

No, not if you used imgradient() to get the actual Sobel edge image instead of edge() which gets the edge image but thresholds and skeletonizes it and returns the skeleton image instead of the actual edge image like imgradient() does.
