I think you might be able to use regionprops to get the bounding boxes and the centroids. Then narrow down to the one with the largest area of its bounding box.

I did, in your duplicate question. I didn't know you had posted a duplicate question. Let's stop here and just continue there, where I have some questions that need to be answered, because the definition of centroid is not clear when you're talking about a curve.
