How can I get the subfolders to expand?

Hello, I am trying to select a folder and set that folder as a root node of a graphical tree so as to be able to open the subfolders of the tree recursively. I am using:

tree= uitree ('v0', 'Root', uigetdir, 'Parent', []);

I am able to select a folder and it is set as the rootnode. When I click on the folder it opens and all the files and subfolders appear, however I am unable to open the subfolders. Whenever I click on the + to the left of the subfolders the + just disappears. Is there a way to solve that?

I don't see +, I see >. And I can see subfolders when I twist the >.

So, what operating system are you using?

Why are you not using uigetdir(), dir(), or fileDatastore() to get your files and folders?

Thanks for replying. My system is Windows 8. I am actually new to matlab so I am still a beginner.

I am supposed to display the folder that is selected in a grphical tree which is why I used uigetdir as an input argument of uitree. Is there another better way to accomplish that and get the subfolders to open successfully?

Are you sugesting the problem I posted above has to do with the operating system?
