Matlab on M1 MacBook
Mostrar comentarios más antiguos
I have installed Matlab 2020b on my macbook pro with M1 chip.
Matlab is launched well, but when I click anything, it responses very very slowly with the message "processing" in the left bottom for about 5 minutes.
After that, it works well.
How can I fix it?

I recently had issues where window snapping apps such as Rectangle, Magnet etc. will slow down Matlab GUIs to the point you described.
If you are using any of them, turn them off and try matlab again.

Matlab was almost unresponsible for me. Quited magnet and now it is snappy. Weird.

Thank you so much, Magnet caused the issue for me as well 👍

MATLAB R2020b Update 3 and later are supported on Apple silicon Macs through the Rosetta 2 translation environment. You might be using the earlier releases/update of MATLAB that’s why it is slow.
Refer to the following MATLAB Answers for more details.

Hi, can you advise whether Matlab willl be creating a version that runs natively on Apple Silicon Macs, and when it might be available? I would like to buy a copy of Matlab but am waiting for the native version. Thanks!

As stated in the MathWorks Support Team answer to the question to which Aakash Mehta linked: "A version of MATLAB which runs natively on Apple silicon is in development. This answer will be updated with more information as development progresses."
We do not generally discuss the timeline for when features will be delivered.

FYI there is now a beta version of release R2022a running natively on Apple Silicon. The Answers post to which Aakash Mehta linked has been updated with more information.
