Code for muting seismic traces

Hi guys, is there any code for muting seismic traces? I mean top mute and bottom mute.I want to pich times in every trace and the convert all the amplitudes of smaller times to zero. some codes do this interactively by clicking on the imag

What form is the data in? A 2D array? A 1D array? What does "Mute" mean to you?

Tell us why

mutedSignal = signal;
mutedSignal(abs(signal)>threshold) = 0;

won't work.
