Senior Digital Optimization Lead

Job Summary

MathWorks is seeking an experienced optimization lead that not only works independently on projects but also leads teams to transform digital marketing efforts. In this role you will be part of a global growing analytics team driving digital marketing efforts with data. You will facilitate conversations between digital team members, web product managers, developers, and marketing teams to optimize digital marketing efforts. Leading and participating in creating best possible user experience on the website is expected.


  • Collaborate with global analytics team and Product Owners in North America
  • Must have experience leading and facilitating conversations with global teams
  • Has experience coaching junior team members and prioritizing projects
  • Lead and facilitate conversations with product managers and technical content authors to optimize their message and product value proposition
  • Independently leverage data science and analytical thinking to integrate web and enterprise data, user experience research and company goals to prioritize and drive segmentation efforts
  • Recommends hypotheses regarding segmentation and targeting of users to improve customer experience and maximize revenue impact
  • Manages building, executing and analyzing A/B testing campaigns to measure the effectiveness
  • Co-manages and evolves testing platform by developing best practices and guidelines
  • Quickly responds to ad hoc analytic requests which are common in our data-driven environment

Minimum Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree and 7 years of professional work experience (or a master's degree and 5 years of professional work experience, or equivalent experience) is required.

Additional Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Math, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, or other relevant field required
  • Experience working with analytical software (e.g. Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics), website optimization tools for A/B and MVT (e.g. Google Website Optimizer, Adobe Target) and debugging tools (e.g. Charles, Google Developer Tolls)
  • Proficient JavaScript experience in coding and troubleshooting analytics implementations
  • Experience with Tag Management Solutions (e.g. Google Tag Manager, Adobe DTM)
  • Ability to measure and analyze online marketing campaigns, including website usage, organic and paid search, email, display, and social
  • Demonstrated problem-solving ability with emphasis on drawing inferences from data
  • Proficient programming in SQL and developing reports (e.g. Tableau, Business Objects, Excel)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills; able to influence decision-makers; able to operate in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.
