Join our team as a Japanese Localization Specialist, where you will play a crucial role in ensuring the technical accuracy and customer acceptability of translations for MathWorks technical materials. Your responsibilities will include localizing the English software user interface, documentation for MATLAB® and Simulink®, and marketing and training materials into Japanese. MathWorks is the leading developer of mathematical computing software for engineers and scientists and offers over 120 specialized products. Our software spans a wide array of areas such as algorithm development, data analytics, visualization, and automated code generation. By delivering high-quality localized products, you will directly enhance our customers' satisfaction.

Responsabilidades

You will serve as a Japanese Localization Specialist, tasked with validating Japanese translations to ensure the release of content that is both linguistically and technically superior. Your role will involve collaborating closely with our translation vendors to ensure localized products are released on time. Additionally, you will be expected to refine the current localization process to enhance our capabilities. Your specific responsibilities will include:

  • Validating the translations of software user interfaces, online products, documentation, as well as marketing and training materials. You will also provide feedback to our translation vendors.
  • Monitoring the translation quality of our vendors over time with the aim of continuous improvement.
  • Developing and updating the Japanese style guide and glossary.
  • Working closely with the APAC Globalization teams in Japan, China, and Korea, as well as the Globalization Engineering and EMEA Globalization teams in the US. This collaboration should also extend to various teams within our Japanese offices to ensure efficient validation processes.
  • Collaborating with other development teams to enhance the overall quality of our products.

Cualificaciones mínimas

  • A bachelor's degree and 3 years of professional work experience (or a master's degree, or equivalent experience) is required.

Cualificaciones adicionales

  • A minimum of 3 years of professional experience in the localization of high-tech software and documentation.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, along with advanced verbal and written communication abilities in both Japanese and English (TOEIC score > 850 or an equivalent score on another recognized test).
  • Proficiency in industry-leading translation and localization technologies, including TMS and CAT tools such as memoQ, Trados, and other similar platforms.
  • Familiarity with MATLAB or other programming environments.
  • Understanding of localization guidelines and best practices, such as the Microsoft Style Guide and related terminology.
  • A degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, linguistics, or a related scientific field.
  • Experience in liaising with vendors.
  • Knowledge of Machine Translation and Generative AI.
