PowerDNA is an extremely compact cube (4 x 4 x 4" or 4 x 4 x 6") that users can connect to an Ethernet-based network for distributed data acquisition and control. Users can daisy-chain as many as 64 cubes to one network port for large I/O requirements.
Each PowerDNA cube consists of a core module (which holds a network power layer and a processor layer) along with either three or six open layers. We supply a complete family of I/O layers including analog input (with resolutions of 16, 18, or 24 bits, inputs to 100V or 0-20 mA), analog output (to 40V), digital input/output, frequency measurements, CAN bus interface, multiport RS-485 and RS-232, and power conversion layers that can generate power for local sensors.
The PowerDNA cube can serve as an embedded target for Simulink Coder or Embedded Coder generated code, allowing users to run Simulink models connected to real-world I/O. When used as a Simulink Coder target, the required MathWorks products are MATLAB, Simulink, MATLAB Coder and Simulink Coder.
PowerDNA also provides an interface to the Data Acquisition Toolbox. MATLAB users can communicate directly with United Electronic Industries's data acquisition hardware using MathWorks' Data Acquisition Toolbox with a driver that is included at no charge along with the United Electronic Industries software. This allows you to bring data directly into MATLAB for analysis, visualization, and modeling. The Data Acquisition Toolbox provides a direct and consistent interface to each device while exposing the inherent features of the hardware. The required MathWorks products here are MATLAB and Data Acquisition Toolbox.
PowerDNA also contains an embedded OPC server, which allows users to acquire data directly into MATLAB for analysis using OPC Toolbox. In this usage, the required MathWorks products are MATLAB and OPC Toolbox.
