Description
The MBD solution for RENESAS RH850/C1M-Ax connects the MCU peripheral IP model with the user model through an intuitive physical value interface and realizes seamless Model-Based Design (MBD) from simulation to embedding generated code into the actual hardware. This solution consists of a SW (software) Driver Model and a HW (hardware) Model. Trial versions of the software packages are available free of charge and can be downloaded from the Renesas website.
HW Model (Renesas IP Model for MILS*)
HW Model is a Simulink® model library that simulates the functional specifications of MCU peripheral IP. The HW Model has semiconductor IP registers and bit names as an input interface and allows users to design a motor control application model while checking the functions of the MCU peripheral IP on MILS (Model-in-the-Loop Simulation), reducing issues caused by hardware deployment at an early stage in the development process. In addition, by combining with the SW Driver Model described below, it is possible to control with intuitive physical values and embed it into the actual hardware environment with generated code.
The HW Model consists of the following:
- Renesas IP Blockset RH850/EMU3, TSG3 (model, user's manual)
- Sample application model for Simulink (model, instruction manual)
SW Driver Model (Motor SW Driver Model)
The SW Driver Model is a support tool for using your motor control application model with RENESAS RH850/C1M-Ax. Using the driver model with an intuitive physical value interface, customers can reduce the development burden of connecting the motor control application model and the MCU peripheral IP model. In addition to the Simulink driver model that runs on the PC, the driver software that runs on the actual hardware and the application notes let you validate the application model on the PC. Then you can automatically generate code for the application model, reducing the development efforts before you run the application software on the actual hardware.
