Will be responsible for contributing to the marketing and sales of MathWorks’ sophisticated products with a focus on the Internet of Things (IoT) market; designing and developing sophisticated software product models and simulations to demonstrate the application of MathWorks’ products in IoT analytics platform; developing technical engineering demonstrations of MathWorks’ products to support the company’s marketing activities in the IoT market; building data analytics integration models and analytics systems to perform customer experience analysis and analyze usage data to support data-driven marketing decisions; gathering customer software requirements to inform development and customization of MathWorks’ MATLAB and Simulink products; working with MathWorks customers to understand their needs to analyze data coming from devices and test equipment; leveraging the expertise in the IoT market and the connectivity devises such as sensors, instruments, and imaging devices; leading the tools in MATLAB that makes it a powerful development environment to reduce the number of steps needed to access data from industry-standard devices and prepare it for analysis, simulation, and visualization; understanding customers’ engineering language, absorbing highly technical material and concepts, and clearly communicating verbally and in writing the solutions created and proposed with MathWorks products; supporting the technical aspect of the marketing process; and evangelizing the use of MATLAB as a powerful development environment for workflows that involve analyzing data from external hardware and sensors. Requires domestic/international travel based on company/client need (approximately 15%).

Minimum Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and two (2) years of experience as a Senior Product Marketing Engineer (or related occupation) developing, prototyping and debugging data and sensor driven applications.

OR

Ph.D. degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and no experience.

OR

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and five (5) years of experience as a Senior Product Marketing Engineer (or related occupation) developing, prototyping and debugging data and sensor driven applications.

 

Special Requirements: 

  • Demonstrated expertise programming in MATLAB, Python and C; developing IoT (Internet of Things) use cases using sensors with microcontrollers that communicate using I2C, SPI and BLE; and developing and researching proof-of-concepts for IoT and connectivity product features.
  • Demonstrated expertise conducting marketing research and market analysis to inform cross-functional conversations with development, technical support and sales stakeholders for the development of a product roadmap.
  • Demonstrated expertise developing training materials and technical marketing or customer support demonstrations of hardware and software engineering solutions; creating product demonstration materials and product specifications and presenting technical software and hardware demonstrations at conferences, tradeshows and online platforms; and conducting Voice of the Customer/Client sessions globally, mapping troubleshooting workflows, and developing technical references or instructional guides.
  • Demonstrated expertise performing data analytics on software product usage, user activity, and user experience to support new features and functionalities for product enhancement in a SaaS and cloud environment; building models showcasing return on investment (ROI) to perform pre-sales analysis or customer service; and developing market strategies and analyzing feedback to support data-driven decision making.
